Coindome Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 This is the first of 3 coins I'm stuck with. Can anyone help point me in the right direction so-to-speak !Actually quite a chunky coin 3mm thick. The rim is oddly thicker than the body of the coin.Diameter 23mm Quote
Brianess Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Appears to be a 1/4 Anna from India, Princely State of Gwalior. Krause catalog # KM170 or KM171. Check these out. I would lean more towards the KM170 as the catalog states it is a 2.2mm thick planchet, whereas the KM171 is a thin, 1.6mm, planchet. The obverse shows the bust of Madho Rao. The reverse shows the Arms. Minted in 1913 (VS1970) Hope this helps. -Brian. Quote

Peckris Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Just a small picky point, but this is the forum for British coin enquiries - there is a separate forum for non-British coins. Quote
