Chris Perkins Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 The 1983 'New Pence' 2pI received 2x 1983 Brilliant Unclirculated Royal mint sets today, each with a different 2p in it (one of them being the mule of course). I will arrange paying the seller (who was fully aware about the 2p situation) and I may hang onto this coin as there are a relative unknown amount of them in existance.Anyone know what these have been sold for recently?IMPORTANT:Anyone reading this that gets excited about the rare 'New Pence' 2p, please see this page, and don't email me to ask!http://www.predecimal.com/newpence.htm Quote
Master Jmd Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 (edited) wow, well done chris...i would wait for a couple of years (so the price rises!) Edited June 17, 2004 by Master Jmd Quote
Half Penny Jon Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 Their value is rather uncertain, CC2002 says anything between £250 and £1500. Btw, well done Chris! I bet you are the only dealer with one of those! Quote

No I think there are probably lots of dealers that have them.I would show you a picture Jmd, but as the Reverse is just like the normal 2p before 1981, and the Obverse is exactly like the 1971-84 2p I thought it pretty pointless. Half Penny Jon Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 (edited) It is definately a sure investment for the future! Or were you planning to sell it immediately Chris? Edited June 17, 2004 by Half Penny Jon Quote
