azda Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) Apparently, if a sellers DSR (detailed seller rating) drops below 4.3 eBay bans you, in these cases that are going to court, the sellers mentioned are taking them to court over Antitrust issues apparently through no fault of their own. They are basically saying that eBay favour the larger sellers (something which i thought many moons ago) over the smaller sellers due to the fact the larger ones bring in much more cash for eBay.Read on......http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y10/m12/i23/s02Just as a side note, i also think its against anti Monopoly rights that eBay UK actually force sellers to accept Paypal, in Germany that doesn't happen, we don't have to have a Paypal account in order to list, what does that say for the UK being shafted as is normal Edited January 8, 2011 by azda Quote
Chris Perkins Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Doesn't happen yet.... But paypal usage is pushed very hard on German ebay, too. They make it out to be the safest way to pay etc. That's rubbish of course, as any payment method is only as safe as the person you're sending the money to! The Germans were much more used to doing bank transfers than the people of GB. I remember the days when i used to get umpteen cheques a week! Anyway, it is a liberty that people are forced to use paypal. As paypal is owned by ebay, why can't paypal payments be free as ebay already get auction fees? Selling cheap stuff or tight margin items simply doesn't make sense anymore. A friend of mine was actually banned for going below the threshold on the DSR. He was reinstated after calling them, but probably only because his sales value was pretty high. Quote
