That's Great stuff 'dead king'. Super coins.

I was born near Eltham and lived there a few years. We used to hang around the Castle there, and walk past it on the way to the pub.

No, not really, I merely skimmed and recognised a place name ;)

I have a little collection of George III fakes. Nothing special though, you can see some of them on the website in the area where I wrote about them.

I have several fake Guineas, sort of a neat sideline!

You know, I'll be damned! You can help me update the prices in the Collectors George III book.

I'll think about giving you American members access to a secret area reserved for the discussion of my forthcoming publications ;)

But you'll have to behave though.

Oh drat the luck - we have to behave

Takes all the fun right out of it :D

But seriously - if I can be of any help at all - just ask. Be only too glad ;)

That would be great! :D

....but you'll have to be sure to spell my name correctly in the acknowledgment. :D

I collect "modern" mostly minor coinage 1838-1970. No Euros, thanks.

Never did get around to what I collect now did I ? Well - British wise it's the issues from the early 19th century and before that spark the most interest. But I do have this thing for original Proof sets and original maundy sets. For the most part though I'm not primarily a collector of British coinage.

For some reason I have always been attracted to coinage from across the channel - and the pond ;)

Yes but i'm sure you could very easily cover the non-British coin area, i mean what you don't know about Ducats, probably isn't worth knowing.

Did you ever persuade the guy at Coinpeople that their Transylvanian Ducat would be more loved in your collection? :D

I have collected British coins from about the age of 14. My current interest is my George III type set.

My (unfinished) George III type set.

It is a very formidable collection you have there! I am helping research prices for Chris. I am mostly involved in half pennies but I help out as much as I can. I especially like your selection of half pennies, I collect 1900-1936 ones though.

I collect Farthings 1902-1956 BU. I'm also onthe book team and I've just seen the first twenty pages and they are most definitely not to be sniffed at!

I am waiting for Chris to teach me the secret knock! :D

I'll have to dig out my files and see what I paid for everything and what the coins I did not buy ended up selling for.

I am working on buying a 1787 plain edge proof 6d. if negotiations don't fall apart, it will be interesting to see what that will cost me!

In Spink it is "extremely rare", if you do purchase it then you will be a very lucky numismatist indeed, I expect not many collectors have one. Is it abt.FDC-FDC or "PR60-70"

A private collector here in the states owns it. He has it off at a grading service right now and it should be back in about a month. I'll post photos if I get it! :D
