azda Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 The G in REG has a spike coming out of it on the OBV. Here's the REV Quote
Colin G. Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I could give you the relevant numbers and letters, but to assist I have a page which highlights the Obverse varieties if you pick out the right Obverse, I will tell you the reverse!! Victorian Obverses Quote
azda Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 (edited) I'll take a look at the OBV and see Edited May 25, 2010 by azda Quote
azda Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 (edited) Ok, am thinking OBV 5 due to the fact Freemans describes a flaw which is prevelant on the G in REG where there is sometimes a protrusion above the short horizontal bar, which this has and can be seen in my OBV pic. Although i was initially thinking OBV 3 until i read this. Edited May 25, 2010 by azda Quote
Colin G. Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 You are correct it is Obverse 5, the easiest way to distinguish between Obverse 3 and 5 is that Obverse 3 has a full brooch, whereas Obverse 5 only has a partial brooch visible. It is also Reverse C Quote
