Silver Threepenny bit?

For Christmas I was given half a dozen silver threepenny bits, dating from the 1889 to 1919, but one of the coins is a bit odd.

It is the same size (16mm diameter) and has a similar looking '3' in the centre, but unfortunately no date, and is either blank on the back or it has worn away any trace of what was there, also around the edge are six symbols i've never seen before.

Has anyone any ideas about the origin or identity of this coin?

Thanks!

Hi, I think it is a token or play money, not sure on the age of it, I have came across quite few before usually within coin oddity bags with tokens and medals. All the ones I have had were also blank on the back.

Thank you Badger, that makes sense.

I had a play money token based on the gold sovereign but a lot smaller, so it didn't occur to me that this was play money as it is the same size.
