Chris Perkins Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 It's a 1977 Silver Jubilee Crown with a face value of 25p. It's worth a pound or so if in mint condition....If not, 25p. Quote
Master Jmd Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 what are the diferences?...i have a horse riding one and one with the crown jewels, why are they both from england (or atleast not with another country name)? Quote

Half Penny Jon Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 I assume that they come from England unless the other one displays a different monarch. Quote
Master Jmd Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 I don't know what you're refering to JMD. well, i have two silver jubilee crowns of Eliz II, one of them is the one that john described, and the other has the crown jewled in the middle of the rev. with the words; Celebrating The Silver Jubilee Of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II - around it. on the obverse it has the queens head with the words; Silver 1952 1977 Jubilee H.M. Queen Elizabeth II - around it...i am wondering why there are two types that both seem to be english... Quote
Emperor Oli Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Hmmm why are there two types? Well that is a toughy <_< For variety!! Quote
Half Penny Jon Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 I have never heard of that coin before. Euston we have a mystery! Quote
Chris Perkins Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Isn't is Houston, as it Whitney....Not Euston, as in London Train Station!! Quote
Emperor Oli Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Hahahahahaha that's so funny!Who's ever heard of mission control in EUSTON? It's HOUSTON, HPJ! Quote
Geoff T Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 The one with the horse is a coin - a crown worth 25p if you spend it. The other one is a commemorative medal, which is probably worth more (depending on condition and metal) but you can't spend it. Quote

Geoff T Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Yes, it's a standard 1977 Silver Jubilee medal - like it says on both sides. The reverse has an orb in the middle surrounded by flower emblems of the UK (as on the plastic surround) and a crown at the top, plus the legend you quote. The obverse has HM QUEEN ELIZABETH II SILVER JUBILEE 1952-1977 on it. It's crown sized. It's worth about £1-2. Quote
