Fubar Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Hi All,Not really into coin collecting but seem to have acquired a collection over the years. (A few years in the Merchant Navy helped)I decided to try and find out if any of the shrapnel/silver coloured washers I have are of any value at all but find it extremely frustrating trying to find genuine information.Once I've found my way around I'll ask the relevant questions in, I hope, the relevant place.CheersKris Quote

But if you have any older stuff, or predecimal British, then by all means post it here. Pictures (photos or scans) would help a lot. Quote
Fubar Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 Thanks for the welcome, Peckris. Some modern UK & foreign both current and defunct but mostly pre-1945 and a rather weird mix.I'm still busy deciding what is worth mentioning or asking about. Quote

The main thing to know about UK coins is that before 1947 silver coins are actually silver : 50% silver from 1920 - 1946, almost full silver pre-1920. Silver prices are high right now, so those could be your priority. Quote
