Hi i wonder if anyone could help me,when my grandfather died, when clearing the house,in a garage we found a large amount of predecimal coins.

I have been told i would be able to sell most of the silver coins at scrap value as the coins are in poor condition having been stored in metal boxes for many years

Also there was a chest full of bronze or brass 3 pennybits and another old pennys.

Is there a market for them?Again i am looking at scap as they are mostly in poor condition.

The silver ranges from 1900;1950. can anyone tell me where the best place i can get good value for it.

Any help would be much appreciated

Where are you and the coins Sue?

I've personally bought van loads of scrap coins in the past. Both silver and copper/brass.

Anything before 1947 is 50% silver, before 1920 is nearly all silver. 1947 onwards is copper nickel, very little scrap value.
