Hello all,

New to the forum and my first post.

I am not a collector (as yet) but....

I have been given a large bag of "old" coins, mainly British coins but also some from worldwide.

There are a lot of the normal "run of the mill" half penny / one penny including an error half penny.

That error information was only brought to my attantion when on another internet site.

Anyway back to the point of my post.

Can someone please identify the coin pictured, and if known what type of metal would this be?

Many thanks in advance

cheers

It's a crown and is sterling (.925) silver.

Chris, sorry i forgot to ask, i know that the picture quality isnt really a lot to go on, but with your experience how would you grade this coin, im not looking for an exact grading as i would assume that its impossible to do so from a photo but just a guide?

thank you

Yes, around Fine is where it's at. Worth around £10.

Many thanks to you both for your time and expertise:D

cheers

No two people ever agree on grading - I'd describe the reverse as definitely Fine, with the obverse falling short of Fine. But I'd agree that the value is between £10 - £12.
