hello fellow collectees

i have a question about hammered silver coins

i have a 1579 elizabeth I hammered sixpence and if i were to hold the obverse at 12 o clock like you should the reverse of the coin is at 9 o clock. i have had a word with my old man and he has an elizabethan sixpence but his is at 12 o clock both sides

were they hammered in any way possible in those days or is this a one off

thanks peeps

The hammerers were usually a bit lax with the die axis, they tend to mainly be quite random.
