Guest jdix Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 While tearing a wall out of my house I found this coin lying in some insulation. Its in amazing condition with no signs of use. I've done some research on it and some seems to be conflicting. One website we visited said it was minted in Bombay, India proclaiming George V to be the high ruler of England and all her colonies. The other said it was minted in Ottawa saying the same thing. I also understand its a fairly common coin valued around $400 USD mainly for its gold content. Can anyone shine a little light on the subject.Thanx,Justin Quote

George V on the obverse, St George and the Dragon on the reverse? and 22mm in Diameter. These were struck either in Australia (Perth, Sydney, or Melbourne), Canada (Ottawa) or India (Bombay). The mintmark is located on the reverse below the horse's right rear hoof and just above the date. So, the mintmarks are either: 'P' 'S' 'M' 'C' or 'I'. As you say, not rare but still a great find.David Quote
