Hi

I have just discovered a 1993 Elizabeth II Coin from Turks & Calicos... It is in uncirculated condition (no marks) and is cased!!! But the value lists it as a "5 Crown" which is a value i have not come across before. Was wondering if anyone could shed any light on this, along with any information on it's possible trade or even retail value would be excellent!!!

I can provide a picture if it helps but would take a few days. Please let me know

Thanks

In my opinion anything from the Turks and Caicos is a novelty coin struck for 'collectors' and any uninformed people that would care to buy one I'm afraid. I very much doubt any of the 10,000 people on the islands have ever spent or even seen one. In fact One Crown appears to be fixed to the value of 1 US Dollar so I would assume that the main currency is the US$. It will just be worth a couple of pounds or the silver value (+ a small %) if it's silver.

Chris, you re right...the Crown is valued at one U.S. Dollar, but there is no silver in the 5 Crown past 1992. The 1993 is copper nickle.
