incuerpo Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 HiI have just discovered a 1993 Elizabeth II Coin from Turks & Calicos... It is in uncirculated condition (no marks) and is cased!!! But the value lists it as a "5 Crown" which is a value i have not come across before. Was wondering if anyone could shed any light on this, along with any information on it's possible trade or even retail value would be excellent!!!I can provide a picture if it helps but would take a few days. Please let me know ThanksIncuerpo Quote
Chris Perkins Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 In my opinion anything from the Turks and Caicos is a novelty coin struck for 'collectors' and any uninformed people that would care to buy one I'm afraid. I very much doubt any of the 10,000 people on the islands have ever spent or even seen one. In fact One Crown appears to be fixed to the value of 1 US Dollar so I would assume that the main currency is the US$. It will just be worth a couple of pounds or the silver value (+ a small %) if it's silver. Quote
RLC35 Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Chris, you re right...the Crown is valued at one U.S. Dollar, but there is no silver in the 5 Crown past 1992. The 1993 is copper nickle.Regards,Bob C. Quote
