Error on RM page ?

There appears to be an error on the Royal Mint page:

It is listing 25p coins being issued; when I think they meant to state 20p. Right ?

No, they are refering to the 25p crown, the first of which appeared in 1972, ten years before the 20p became a main denomination.

I've caught my error. 25p coins were issued, as commemorative coins, four different years (72, 77, 80 & 81) and were not intended for general circulation.

Another question, please, are there any coin folders (not albums) like the Whitman coin folders of my youth, for the post decimalization British coins ? It's been over thity five years since some of them were first introduced, yet I haven't been able to locate any on the internet.

They're aren't any as far as I know.

Whitman are still going, you could ask them what range they did/do.

Thanks again Chris, but I had already checked with Whitman. Their reply, "Unfortunately, we no longer stock foreign currency folders. We only carry American currency folders".

They used to stock (at least) Canadian, Australian, as well as British coin folders back in the 60s and 70s; but not (apparently) any longer. I have some of the Canadian and British (pre-decimalization) coin folders myself, but haven't been able to locate any coin folders for the post-decimalization British coins.

There's an untapped market out there for any of you entrepreneurs.

If you ever do hear of any, please post.

The problem with them is that they cause coins to tone and dis-colour, or in a worst case scenario the coins get bronze disease and other corrosion. There probably is some kind of modern card that would do the job better, I'll have to see.

It would be a good idea to lauch a range of folders with a new book I'm working an about decimals.

I have a Whitman folder for the Statehood Quarters (I have friends in the states that supply me with them from circulation.) This folder has two plasic inserts that cover the front and back of each coin. While not protecting from atmosphere at least they are protected from Fingerprints!! - and maybe the card of the folder.
