Guest Hannah Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Hello! I came across an old coin today. It is very very worn, but on the 'tails' side we can make out 'MR'Here are some pictures (hope they are clear enough):Front:Back: Quote
Chris Perkins Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 It's Spannish, without looking in books that's about all I can tell you! It's no doubt from somewhere around the 18th century. Quote

scottishmoney Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 ooh thank you! anyone know anything else?xYep, I think I can make out something of Ferdinand, he would have been the king very early in the 19th century, so this is a Maravedi from the era of 1810-1820 or so. Quote
Guest Hannah Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 oh thank you lovely people! This is all very interesting Is it worthless?xx Quote
Chris Perkins Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Yes, but if we keep getting little kisses we'll talk to you all day! Quote
Eduardo Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 ooh thank you! anyone know anything else?xThese Ferdinand VII coins have the mint mark behind the bust and the value in front. In the reverse the cross of Don Pelayo and the arms of Castille (Castles and lions), A central circle with the Bourbon Fleur de Lis. No inscription in the reverse. If you cannot see the value 2, 4 or 8 (Maravedis) the diameter should be enough.Eduardo Quote
