Emperor Oli Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 I spent the last week in London, and whilst on my travels visited the British Museum. Armed with my camera, I took a few photographs of exhibits I thought were quite interesting. They are posted below for your viewing pleasure...Some dies:Some dies with the finished product:A Gothic piece with its collar:A whole set of dies:A plaster cast of a full size pound before being reduced:...on a reducing machine: Quote
Chris Perkins Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Those are great Oli, thanks. That reminds me that I wanted to contact the BM to see if they wouldn't mind if I reproduced the 2nd Edition Peck dust cover. Quote
krasnaya_vityaz Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 I don't think the die on the 1754 1/2d matches the coin, the 5 in the date has a higher serif in the numeral than on the die. Nitpicking I know. But I would think the BM would get it right. Quote
