Guest jb123 Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Can anyone give me advice on a coin I found as a child (its now lost). It was slightly bigger than our 5p coin, but very thin, silver with the head of Queen Victoria on one side, I cant remeber what the reverse side was like, but I think it was dated late 1880s. Quote
Peter Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 It was probably a 3d or a 6d...(it could even have been a Maundy coin.....1d,2d,3d or 4d which were all silver).Towards the latter part of the 19 C there were several different "Victoria" heads. (Young head, jubilee, veiled).I hope this helps a bit...good luck. Quote
