Jamesred Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 Ello again.I have acquired a 1902 penny which does not look quite correct. It is highly shiny and lighter than a full lustre penny. I will try to get a decent pic of it but thats not easy as it is reflective, i have a total of 48 1902's including 4 low tides and this is really puzzling me.... it has a few edge knocks...... all details are clear and if it had the full "normal" lustre i would grade a good EF as not much wear at all (well edge knocks) Can this be a proof?? It doesnt look to me like it has been polished. no scratches are evident. Im ConfusedjamesWill do a pic tomorrow Quote
Geoff T Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Can this be a proof?? It doesnt look to me like it has been polished. no scratches are evident. Im Confused Unlikely, as the official 1902 proof set didn't include bronze and had a matt finished anyway.G Quote
