Guest Nuggetsofgold Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Hi all,I won this auction on ebay last tuesday on the pretense that the coin listed had no scratches or marks on it (of which the seller said there was not: saying the only marks were on the mint blister).I just wondered before i paid the £300, if you think the seller is lying, as i have been scratching my head over this. The auction can be found here:http://tinyurl.com/8vowvThe pictures in question are the top two with the faint white lines!Thank you every one for my time (and perhaps money)!Dave Quote
Emperor Oli Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 I have a Canadian Maple Leaf, which is essentially a bullion coin like the one listed, but in silver. It is in its original mint blister pack which has many marks on it, the likes of which are on that one. I would therefore say it is only the packaging that is marked, but caveat emptor as always. Chris Perkins Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 It doesn't matter at all, because you've basically paid just a fraction over bullion value for it, and it would be easy to re-sell at that value. I suspect the scratches are on the plastic though. Quote
