Hi Raoul

From your pictures I would grade your half sovereign at NVF.It also has an edge knock on the reverse.

The book price for a Melbourne mint mark is around £90 to £110. (m)

The book price for a Sydney mint mark is around £375 to £425 (s)

You will see the mint mark on the reverse under the shield.

If my grading is low....it could be worth a lot more but gold is often overgraded.EF samples are very rare.

A dealer will usually pay 50 to 60% of book price.

A nice find......I hope this helps....

PS

Gold is very popular on Ebay so the market value is rising.
