Impressed name on George IV crown

I have a George IV silver crown, dated 1822, and on both sides is has impressed into it the words/name W H PELLOW.

What does this signify and why was it done?

It's probably an advertising or love token, both of which were popular in the 19th century, but I won't click on links like those on a public forum.

Thanks. I do find it annoying that Apple decided to make all photos taken with their phones .jfif files (and claim everything can deal with it!). This site isn't the only one that can't handle them.

For now you can just rename your files by changing the jfif suffix to jpg.

For the future I recommend changing your iPhone camera capture setting to "most compatible", which means jpg.

Truth is, we'll likely never know the story of this but almost definitely some sort of marketing effort given the style of the stamp.
