The Coin Realm Posted September 22 Posted September 22 (edited) I am currently helping someone to identify this groat. The legend has clipped the name of the king, and by the looks of it, it strongly resembles either a late Edward IV or a Richard III. Tricky to tell. I've attached the only two photos I currently have. I would really appreciate any help or thoughts.Thank you so much for your time and replies, I really appreciate it. jelida Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Well the mintmark (above the ‘C’ of CIVITAS ) looks as though it might be a cross pattee, or at least the leg of an expanding cross. This would rule out Richard III, but it could still be Edward IV, Henry V etc- though I haven’t looked into further detail. Jerry 1 Quote
