dmw2602 Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Hi, Has anyone seen this version of the 1860 with a dot next to the one previously? Grateful for any information. Not sure if it's common for that year. Thanks in advance, Quote
jelida Posted May 20 Posted May 20 This looks to me like a corrosion product dot rather than a die issue. Again, better pics would help. Jerry 2 Quote
Citizen H Posted May 21 Posted May 21 The 8 looks like it has a part missing, the shield looks nice, 👍 1 Quote

jelida Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Die fill to the ‘0’, commonly seen. I still suspect that the dot is corrosion given its lobular shape and adjacent surface granularity. But a definitive answer could only take place under a microscope or by finding identical duplicate coins. Jerry 1 Quote
