Help RE: Sixpences

Hi!

My mother has a collection of British sixpences and is thinking of selling them.

I'm new to all this but I was wondering whether anyone could give me a rough idea of their worth.

I have tried looking up the current values of the coins but it's not making much sense to me tbh!

Anyway, I'd really appreciate any help/comments... this is the list of coins she has :

To begin with, everything from 1947 on is made of copper-nickel. The silver was removed after 1946. Because there is no silver, the value of them drops greatly, unless they are in perfect - "mint" condition. Considering the extremely high mintages, and the availability of them, unless in "mint" condition, they would only be worth a few pence each.

Were the 'F', 'VF', 'EF' 'UNC' designations confusing you?

I could sit here and explain grading but it's a bit hard to do unless i had pictures to show you what to look for exactly.

The short of it is that the value of acoin is directly based on the condition it is in. The higher grade (i.e the more detail remains) the more it will be worth.

1966 and 67 coins are only worth about 10p/20p a piece in mint state (i.e looking the way they did when they left the mint). Millions of them out there.

Can you post pictures?

If so do the 1921-43 coins they'll be the ones with the value however little it may be.

By looking at the grading scale, the majority of coins I believe would fall into the 'EF' category...I'll hopefully go down my mum's tomorrow and take some pics... thanks again!

No Disrespect but £10 on Ebay + P&P would be a result.

Rare dates such as 1952 (still not worth a lot) sometimes cloud the issue.

The big problem is people hoarding predecimal coins thinking they would make a fortune hasn't worked.

I recently bought 50 1963 1/2ds FOR 99P ......GOOD LUCK ......my tip to you would be sell them individually + 75p postage
