Guest dave@645 Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 Hello Folks,I am to produce a fine silver coin based on the James I sixpence of 1603 and modified to fit a project to protect a small Scottish island. The choice of coin is relevent as the project is a joint Scottish / English one and the period was the first time the Scottish and British crowns were unified. The choice of design modifications link to the project founder and others involved. The coin is obviously more token than coin but it will have a history both inherited and, as time goes on, a history of its own. Chris has kindly given me his view on the viability of the coin/token as a collectors item but I am seeking the views of others too. If you would like to comment on the principle I would be very grateful. If you would like to know more I would be pleased to explain more. So if you have a view and a moment to express it I would be pleased to hear from you.Kid regards,Dave Quote
