George 111 & Edward V11 coins

Rather rashly bought some coins on eBay.

Now that I have received them I cannot identify two of them.

The first is Edward V11, dated 1902.

The kings head on one side and George and dragon on the other.

It appears copper and is smaller than an old silver threepenny.

It is much smaller than a half sovereign.

The second is George 111, unable to date because it has been

holed where the date is.

The kings head on one side and a shield on the other.

Appears to be copper. about the size of a shilling.

There is a photo of the coins on eBay where I bought them.

Simply type in 3968870075 and press search.

One is on the top line in the centre.

The other is on the bottom line in the centre.

If anyone can help I would be grateful.

By the way you describe it, the Edward VII piece is a coronation model half farthing. Not official coins of the realm, but nonetheless very interesting pieces.

It would be best to let someone else address your question on your George III piece.

Looks like a spade guinea token to me...(do not go by my judgement though as I am not positive).

Yes, it could easily be an imitation spade guinea (or half guinea). What does the reverse legend say? The proper one is M.B.F.ET.H.REX.F.D.B.ET.L.D.S.R.I.A.T.ET.E. If that isn't the legend, it could be one of those Victorian gambling tokens, or if that is the legend it could be a counterfeit....... maybe it was a copper counterfeit that was once gilted gold?
