The second A is Britannia is unbarred, and the colons between REG:F:D appear to be missing one of the dots. The A in Victoria and the B in Britannia also appear to be incomplete. Rob Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 Blocked dies. When coins are struck, a small amount of metal debris is created which over time can gradually fill the incuse detail on a die leading to what you describe. 1 Quote
