I have such a backlog of emails, most of it is from people offering me a load of rubbish. It's only polite to reply of course, but even writing the odd paragraph here and there seems to take up most of the day at the moment.

So, I was wondering if any of you keen young folk (or older folk) would be able to help out?

I plan to set up a yourname@predecimal.com email address and give it to the lucky applicant. What I'll then do is put that email address in the 'Buying Coins area' and also make it the destination of some of the web forms on predecimal.com

Your job will be to reply to people thanking them for their message, and usually to ask them for more details...Dates, pictures, lists etc. When you know exactly what the emailer has, you can email me a list, or forward the email with the list etc.

After a very short while, you'll get to know exactly what most people seem to have, what most people think has value, and usually that's the kind of stuff I don't want! Hopefully, you'll be able to filter off the churchill crowns, 1977 Jubilee crowns and other rubbish before it gets to me.

This task will involve trust, because I'll need to be confident that you don't turn people down with Una and the Lion Proof sets and the like!

The volume of emails should not be more than 20 a week at the very most, in fact it's not the numbers that are a problem, it's the time involved finding out exactly what people have that eats into my day so much...Only to find out it's scrap metal.

As for payment, well, if we manage to buy anything I'll certainly give a comission depending on what it is, and I'll also do you plenty of favours on predecimal.com coins, accessories and books. I think it would perhaps suit a young person more, as it really should be a good learning experience. And who knows, in the future you could end up having a much more official role within the growing Predecimal.com empire!

Any thought, or applicants, talk in here please.

If it wasn't GCSE year, I'd jump at the chance. From now on though, the workload is going to get heavier and heavier so I don't think I could really afford the time to do it. Thanks for the offer but I'm sadly going to have to decline.

Would you consider giving a Yank a try at it?? I always have several hours per day to surf, a decent grasp of the English language, a few reference books to help weed out the basics (and non-UK stuff), and a passion for collecting and coins, in general. Even at my age, I would consider it a learning experience, and one that I think I would enjoy.

I am currently in the same situation as Oli. Not that I am in the year when I take the GCSE exams, but most of the coursework for the GCSE's are done this year, and so far its been a very time consuming task...just this week (Monday and Tuesday) I have been set a 200 word French essay, a 1500 word piece of English coursework, two ICT reports that should be at least two pages each...its immence!!!

Good luck to whom ever you choose :)

Absolutely, yes what a fabulous idea. I have been impressed by the knowledge you have demonstated here Kuhli. You do seem to have the right books and you certainly know how to use them!

email me to tell me what email address (anything@predecimal.com) you would like. And I'll set it up and then start directing the questions to you.

I look forward to working with you.

Damn I was to late :(

Yes, I have selected Kuhli, who is an experienced collector and has all the right books.

Sorry Mitch.

I'll close this topic now.
