Hi.
Can anyone give me their opinion on this halfcrown please? I purchased it from ebay recently but I have been informed that it has been an ex-mount. If it has been then it has beeen professionally repaired, right down to the ridges matching up.
Thanks.
Check out the sad story on this sellers fakes πππ. Must be the best story ever.

Haha I was the underbidder, thinking that 1789 Irish halfpenny was some type of rare coin. Maybe because there is limited info on this Samsung galaxy tablet, I could not for some reason find any info on the coin. Thought I had struck it rich!!
Can anyone tell me what the 1789 hibernia coin in this lot is please?

Just seen this 1816 shilling with what appears to be the words Mal y Pensr being sold on ebay. Is this a different variation or just my iffy eyesight?

Here is another gothic florin. The eye doesn't seem to be correct.

Not quite ebays worst offering, but is it unusual for the bottom of the arcs to overlap the rim of these coins?

What do you guys make of this 1875 QV Halfcrown which was in a joblot of coins. Weights and measures are ok but it seems a really weak strike on the 5.
Another one of those expensive fakes slipping thru ebay.

Lol@ hold your horses π΄π΄ . Wasn't really wanting the coin. Just looked a bitty odd. As you say, quite possibly the bad pictures. This thread has made me paranoid! Thanks for the info. πΊπΊ
Cheers Rob as always your advice is appreciated.
There just seemed to me that there were a lot of scratches on the obverse compared to the reverse. Also, both parts of the reins go across the horses neck, is that unusual?
Does this 1889 Queen Victoria crown look ok to you guys?

Why on earth would someone pay this much at auction for a Kew Gardens 50p when there are numerous coins for sale on buy it now for as little as Β£90.
I was banking on it being an R when I fired in a last second bid only to be still outbid. Its not worth Β£43 if its an E in my opinion. Maybe got off lightly. ???
Heres a sixpence i was outbid on. It seems to have R's instead of E,s in the word PENSE. Is this unusual?
