Hi, The earliest official coinage was 1709, before that it was mainly English and Irish. The last of the early dates was 1839. There are a lot of varieties of some of the early dates as well as contempory forgeries, mainly Irish, Geoff.

Hello my name is Geoff and I have recently joined this forum. I have been trying to find a forum that is British. My problem is that I collect Isle of Man. Most places list as world not British, so am I ok here? I also collect Irish, so again does not come in the British catagory. I am a member of yhe Wiltshire Numismatic Society, joined again earlier this year. I was a member about 30 years ago then dropped out, and sold my collection but came back earlier this year.
