  1. Maybe 1 cent silver. Maundy penny.
  2. On the obverse the REG some are aligned. Some are seperated by thin incuse line. Others are detached. On 1890 aligned the space between the legs or R in REG are more square other date are more round. Is this common?
  3. What is the metal? Any picture if possible as expert can idetify it?
  4. In one decimal place, digital scale 1966 penny weigth 10.0g is it still in normal range of 10% weight of the coin in this series?
  5. I dont know but,I think this is something to do with coins. Just an opinion. That the mint is minting money and foward them to the bank. And the bank lend and borrow money to others local and foreign. Its more than money. Since there is a problem on loans who owns the money in a sense. Will we wait for the debasment of coin metal due to high price of metal or lossing the cent itself due to deficit and bad loans, just an opinion. For Im thinking that the coin today does not reflect the true value of its purchasing power as the goverment will protect its people, in debasing and lossing the cent but the deficit and bad loans is the problem for inflation.
  6. Thank you. US,UK and European banks. On those banks, money is owned by the goverment or private or both?
  7. What happen. Why they are saying that things did go bad.
  8. Evasion token http://www.thecoppercorner.com/history/evasions_hist.html for future ref.

  13. Yes its fun its the last day of the show and I came early to mid afternoon. Mosly bought coins 40 cents each or 6 coins for 10 around that range. found a leeds penny and the reverse was a saint like figure 1790 something badly battered. two irish coin with old harp around 1765 and 1792 look on red book and some ref. books its listed dont know if its real. and 1795 george ruler and harp on the reverse,i think its fake they do use word ruler on that time.
  14. Been to coin expo in RDS today feb 16 and 17 2008 First time there is good, bought moslty low grade farting,1/2d ans 1d mostly GB coins. Also CGS offer 500 pcs. eire euro slab for 500 guest, its there moved to expand to irish coinage and maybe to europe or euro. Its my first slab coin.
  15. Thank you chris. Yes it is in freeman,in the introduction pages on technical summaries and pecularities and others. He also mentioned that 1967,1966,1965. that thier is a variation in weight, also on variation of flan. Since QE II is the last year of predecimal issue since 1860 many changes happen on the weight and in the composition of metal alloy in brozed coinage. Some question. What happen why the last 3 year of issue for circulating coins varies in weight? What is nicer the pink unciculated one or the brown one? What happen when the pink uncirculated one contact with the atmosphere what is the color light brown or dark chocolate brown. Why krause didnt list the weight of QE II pennies? Is there chances that flan use in post 1923 pennies is use in other series and overlap to one another?
  16. Sorry here is the picture,I usually aligned in this two words and they differ on pearse shilling. http://www.predecimal.com/forum/index.php?...=si&img=395 Is this tooled, worn, filled die or variety. http://www.predecimal.com/forum/index.php?...=si&img=396
  17. Dont have the picture yet. Others can aligned the I in Irie the following letters are different spacing for each coin. Thier are 2 spacing seen in dunloagrie last antique show same number or ratio, just got the wide spacing for I, got 3 close spacing in words The other one is close letters along word before amacc if not mistaken only seen this in close spacing not seen in wide,so no coins to compare on wide spacing on words after amacc, the dealer is selling it for 20 euro short in budget. latter found out compare at home that spacing on the edge varies. On the 1968 penny chickless and chick, Any one have 1968 penny the first chick inside the hens legs instead of rounded back its straight I have 2, on more or less 50 plus 1968 penny I have. on half penny some I noticed that other belly or stomach have more spaced than other and the spaced on the chest and the groin some are smooth others have a triangular incuse space or it is just a worn die.
  18. Any ireland predecimal ireland variety collector here?
  19. Thats a lot of info Aardhawk.
  20. Thier is good and bad things happen in the past. as other may observe frank and gentleman which is a good thing, like you mean what you say and you say what you mean and meet in this forum, people do change if not accept them to a limit. If not. Its all up to the moderator and owner, just keep the correction rod besides them and post thier reproof or suspension for other members, like Aidan if they like.
  21. Thank you. GARYD
  22. Thank you. Just pushing, since thier is 2, 1911 coin I BRITT PDT hollow neck posted in this thread. Automatic I of DEI PBTT and colon : after GRACIA PDT and I of IMP PDT in that order for hollow neck only as I observe in two 1911 coin sample posted in this thread. I thought Garyd and BCC coin are both hollow neck but different pointing of colon after GRACIA and I in IMP or its just me?
  23. Thank you,Thats a lot of info. Is Thier no other minor variety on 1911 I in BRITT pt to tooth. Like the pointing of I in DEI or colon : after GRACIA or I of IMP or it does not matter? dont have that kind of coin, maybe others have several can compare to others.
  24. Thank you for the reply. Good start 1911 first in the series with 2 or more variety. On 1926 ME I in BRITT it is on gap or to tooth, It is listed in CCGB that I in DEI is to tooth in 1926 ME and I in BRITT follows also to tooth, since thier are already 2 or more varieties in 1911 on pointing of I in BRITT,thier is a posibility on ME that I in BRITT is to gap or easy way of looking normal fron ME or other varieties that may come inbetween pointing from the start of the letters, colon up to the end of the letters. If 1926 penny is I in BRITT to tooth it is ME?
