farthings were copied - but to be honest halfpennies were the coin that were concentrated on by most forgers -
A bit less than 3 million - sorry but unless its totally unc it's unlikely to get any premium at all even after ten years or so . you might do better putting it in a building society

Indeed prob about 3/4 of all 1775 halfpennies are forgeries , but most are made in england and most circulated in the uk (that includes scotland and the whole of ireland. many are evasions with blundered legends All are collected though in really low grade they are worth very little -

Midlands coin fair for me -every time - loads of dealers and loads of choice - If you have £20 to spend or £20 000 you WILL find something that you like -
A Commonwealth games set just look on completed listings on ebay my guess would be £75- £90 not sure about the edin £1 but you could look on ebay again
