  1. Thanks Chris,I'll be downloading it!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Apologies if this has been covered, but I think that Rotographic might offer a better alternative to Spinks given my collecting preferences. I notice that the pdf florins page is in colour on the website, but when viewed there is a note to say that the printed version will be in shades of grey. I really liked the cartwheel page which is in colour. My question is are there colour plates in the printed version? These are not only attractive, but helpful in terms of grading... I like the layout of the Rotographic book, and if it has colour plates then it has to go on Santas list...........
  3. Thanks for the reply Emperor Oli,very helpful. Chris,I thought that Spinks was ''the bible'' however, having looked elsewhere on this site it seems that there might be an alternative book for 2006 CheersTed

    Spinks

Hello Folks, I have been using Spinks 2005 to help identify and catalogue my collection. It seems straightforward and easy to understand, however,I have a few questions about some of the abbreviations used.In particular on page 397 SP3822.Does anyone know what the following mean? 1822-inv.A's legend 1825-D/U in DEI 1826 R/E in GRATIA I have looked for an explanation elsewhere in the book and found nothing.Any clues please? Thanks,Ted

    Software

The only software that I use is Microsoft Excel,it's basic, however it gives me an instant view of my collection.
  8. That is some piece, thanks for sharing it...
  9. I thought that cleaning was not an option with any coins?surely a toothbrush might cause damage?or is it a case of gambling that to acheive a better definition?
  10. I bought a silver proof jubilee crown from them earlier this year which seemed good value at £10.50...It's the only experience I've had with them though,so I may just have been lucky.
  11. Hello folks, As a newbie to this site, and to collecting,I would like to say that my coin collection began with a few that I was left by Grandparents.I have been building my collection using Ebay, though it seems that I might make more cost effective purchases from coin fairs etc.But where are they?I am on the South Coast. Are there other auction sites more geared towards coin collectors,or do I continue with Ebay? Thanks, Ted
  12. Always been interested.Got a few pre and post 1947 coins from my Grandad, then picked up more from Ebay-the bug has bitten...
