There is small tail there that hints Q/Q, but that's probably a flaw. What I wanted to point out is that Q in the first picture is the same as Q of 1818 LVIII crown and Q in the second picture is the same as in 1819 and 1820 crowns (I have several of those and Q is really the same except for this double tail flaw). My guess is that design was changed a bit during 1818 and crowns after that got this "bulky" Q. I don't really have enough material to confirm that 1818 LVIII crowns have "fine" Q but I that's my guess (the one that I have does). Obviously, I would like to hear opinions of the experts.

Hello, I just noticed that a letters "Q" in "QUI" in the legend of my 1818 LIX crowns look different. One looks similar to "Q" on 1818 LVIII crown and the other looks like in 1819 and 1820. I could not find any info on this in ESC or Davies. Are there two types of reverses known for this crown or is it just a flaw?

I think the gap in M and N is similar but I guess you are right about flaw, the middle in N is much thicker than here. Thank you.

Hi Hussulo, good idea with website. Just a couple of comments: it's obvious that successful auction must have a large audience (meaning buyers). They are going to appear if there are good bargains available. Of course, advertising is a very good idea, but the key is to get dealers that will be selling their stock. I think (and this is just an opinion) that you have to drop your fees to 0% in the beginning. You can not compete with ebay now unless you offer your service for free since you simply don't have the audience. I think most of online auctions started like this and eventually introduced a fee for using it. Now, since you position your auction as a coin auction there must be more specific services available than in general online auction. Again ebay example, it is essentially online flea market and I don't expect people to put a good scan of the coin or put a fair grade. I also see a lot of fakes there and ebay does not do anything to stop it. I guess at this point you can offer more than ebay here.

Several times I have seen british set of 1940-s and 1960-s sealed in the plastic, the coins were UNC. Does anyone know if Royal Mint was issuing smthg like this?
