  1. Thank you tubandpud and mint_mark for your kind words, and yes Scandinavia turned into "decimals" in 1873 and both Denmark, Norway and Sweden decided to have the same currency, but I see that you already knew that.
  2. Well Im refering to it as it would be authetic, so when would it be from if autentic
  3. I got this coin in my possession. Once bought it when I visited England. I know it is supposed to be from the normandic period, but could anyone give me more facts about it!? ...and no it is not an authetic coin but a fake, but I would still be very happy if someone could identify When its from or who´s face one can se on it
  4. Thanks Chris I shall take it into serious consideration. Is it possible to pay for the book itself in euro aswell or is it merely british pounds that is accepted?
  5. Thank you everyone Yes I found the pictures aswell as the historical articles very interesting. I took the liberty to make links to them (the articles) on my own website. Hope you dont mind. Farthings, hmm is that a quarter of something!? Perhaps something similar to the scandinavian "fyrk" which is a quarter of an Öre. I have actualy been peeking at it. 4.95 I read... well I shall try to check how much the freight would cost aswell way of payment.
  6. Thank you Chris! As for beginning collecting english coins, well who knows but for now I think I will settle with looking around in your nice forum and learn more.
  7. Perhaps I can be of any assistance. The first note is (atleast in Swedish auktions sites) sold for roughly 2-3 pounds each. The second one should probably render about the same value but that is merely me guessing.
  8. Just wanted to say hello! Dont ask me how i find this site as i hardly know it myself, but anyway I should perhaps introduce myself... I choised the alias "Berg" basicly cause is my last name, living and thriving in Sweden which is pretty natural as Im a swede... So, Im not english and I even dont collect english coins... so what am I doing here, well I always find it fascinating to learn about new things and meet new people and hopefully I will manage to do so here. As for my collection it is mostly consising of scaninavian coins from 1873 and forward "kronor" and "ören" but I do occasionally buy what ever I can get my hands on. No Im only hoping I didnt hijack this thread cause that wasnt my purpose... just wanted to say hi!
