  1. nice innit, my fav is spiky beardy as i call it
  2. this is the money shot though, 3 AGR bitch and snakes and both AGR quarter staters, love it,
  3. thats a nice coin you have, i never knew anything about them until i starting taking an interest in them , AGR was the supposed son of Cunobelin, Henry III VLC's are my thing. he has a solidv but it has a chunk missing, he also has the agr wild type quarter stater Agr silver unit and gold quarter stater is a rare pairing too ;0)
  4. just play with it ,
  5. the first edition ones with the medals are selling well, £130 plus
  6. the blue peter issue 2009 50p has shot up, i bought several in the blue peter card last year, they were around £18 a pop, selling for around £90 now,
  7. lots of people pushing the boundary's of error coins and mistrikes on ebay lol, gives coin sellers a bad name
  8. have been using the lighthouse everslab but find the if thinner and smaller coins tend to twist in the insert, i use the coin gallery to buy capsules cause they send out the product in the proper box, ones i've used on ebay buy them in bulk and chuck them in separate in a bag, not a fan of that, been looking at airtites but they have to be shipped in as i'm yet to find a dealer who stocks them in the uk
  9. to see two bitch and snake AGR units together is a very rare thing
  10. don't know if there is anyone on here who likes a bit of celtic silver, a good friend of mine has a little collection of Cunobelin silver units going on, all date from aroun 20 to 50 ad ish , i like to mess about with them and take photo's, some of them are quite rare, some have been sold on to buy better examples, need to get some up to date pics, but hope you enjoy these
  11. whats the best way to keep the penny, capsule with foam ring ?
  12. its not been mis described thats the problem, i never rush into things but i did this time, thats why i'm gutted, you know something weird, when i first held the coin i never got that feeling from it, if that makes sense, you can feel if a coins special it gives out a radiance a feeling
  13. so have i thats why i cant understand how this has happened, its a pretty specific area getting into the finer details of the early plastic type dies and vip issues etc, i did place to much trust in who i was buying from, i didn't actually pay £550 for it i had around £370 quid in decimal £2's 50'p you know and the Olympic 50p's, i have 3 sets of olympics in the first issue folder with the medal things so i wasn't too bothered in seeing them go, i can get the £2's all day long from friends in shops etc, wasn't any scarce ones in there like kew gardens or the 2002 £2 commonwealth or the bible or the Olympic £2's. we came to a deal of £600, i chose that and a 1950 proof penny, thought i would do something different instead of using it to and trusted the price to reflect in its scarcity, then when i finally had a chance to sit down i realized it was the billy basic and were frosted like that in many sets on ebay, and the fact i won one last week for £7 and seeing one sell in April for .76p and another for around £6 from the states made me think something wasn't right,
  14. actually those 1937's did come from the same set, the crown and half crown were nice but couln't afford them, the set came from the states via ireland, coins from the us always last better cause of the climate
  15. bought the coins separate, some come from the same lot, have looked at buying a whole set in the case but not all the coins are always nice or look like they belong to the same set
  16. 1937 proof penny,love the rainbow toning,
  17. i'm sure most of you have seen the type of coins many times, 1937 Proof shilling
  18. 1937 proof maundy 4d, have the whole maundy set but the smaller the coins get the more i struggle to get a decent pic lol
  19. considering they are a large dealer i find that quite shocking
  20. 1902 matte Proof Shilling, love anything Edward VII ;0)
  21. on a lighter note, despite the 1953 frosted half crown saga i thought i'd share a few of my recent proof acquisitions 1937 Proof Crown
