    Set Wanted

When you collect a set of coins , you want one of each , may have to have a gap in my set I'm not paying way over book price , lets see if one turns up at a coin auction

    CGS UK & Ebay

I'm looking at decimal 1983-2015 coins , which are more of a fixed value They put them up with a fixed "Buy It Now" price , way over the actual book value

    Set Wanted

The thing about this set is the crown , its a frosted version that only 593 were made and only put in this set I may have to skip this one

    Predict The Grade (again)

I would worry more if it wasn't toned as normally 1911 proofs come toned due to the box they were stored in, normally with a blue interior. Yes I'd expect the 1911 to be more toned than that. I would worry more if it wasn't toned as normally 1911 proofs come toned due to the box they were stored in, normally with a blue interior. Yes I'd expect the 1911 to be more toned than that. As you all know , I now have a thing about toning

    Identifying cleaned coins

I,m no expert , but I think cleaning ruins the surface of the coin , creating what looks like small scratch marks
  13. I emailed a day ago asking for better pictures , no reply yet I may phone the number to see if this site is actually live... Has a few nice coins that I would like to own.
  14. Just found this on one of the auction sites What a waste of a very nice coin
  15. No , there are two Gothic Crown's, and the one above is for sale ES0019 Crown Victoria, 1847, Gothic Proof, Extremely Fine £1,195.00
  16. SWANNY

    What a waste

    Thank god for that....
  17. That Gothic Crown looks very clean , shame there is not a higher detail picture (I have blown it up, but it loses detail)
  18. SWANNY

    What a waste

They are calling this a "Gaming Token" , is that right ?
  19. Thanks all , will have to see what prices they go for
  20. Can some please help with the grade of this coin , I am told its GEF !
  21. I was hoping the second coin to get F+ , but its all about personal likes and the size of the wallet How much would the second coins price be if in a VF grade ? , I want one.....
  22. What was the coin , that may help.....
  23. How about this one......

    Predict The Grade (again)

I would worry about the toning on that proof , I think its a lovely looking coin , but what will CGS think ?
  25. Never a mistake, but a 'learning experience'. And you would always get most of the money back 'on the Bay', but anyway its a nice looking coin, why worry? It is so difficult to tell from photos, may look great in the hand. Like that lovely Gothic Crown of yours; there is clearly very little expert agreement on this forum with the thoughts of one individual at CGS. Don't be disheartened! Not like the two and a half grand I spent repairing the daughters car last summer, only for her to sell it for £600 two weeks later because she 'didn't trust it'! AARGH........ Still, at least I've married her off now! Jerry That made me laugh , thank god mine has left the nest....
