  1. First couple by me and probably the most common. I need to update the Royal Mint McMillin medallion for a better one but the Metcalfe one is a beauty. Much better than the image.
  2. Would be interested to see how many we could get posted. Will put up the pics of mine later.

    Is this a replica too?

Looks like it has had a rough life.

    New pound coin

Not sure if this has been noted. At the bottom of the coin around the edge. Below the hologram section the reeding is standardly to the right and with smooth to the left. I have checked about 70 coins up to now and have only found 1 that has reeding to the left. I know with the previous decimal coinage edge variation has been unimportant, but if this is the standard ratio then I would assume this would make a difference. Just an observation.

    Pennies High grade.

Good thing about this hobby, time No major rush. Enjoy your coins and well spotted... Pete's coins are always nice and he's a great guy to deal with. Sure like most of us you already know that. Cheers Brian

    Pennies High grade.

1903 open 3 is the only one I needed. Will get one eventually
  7. Thanks John. Some great information in that lot. Cheers Brian
  8. Hi Guys I would normally put any error coins I have in the "Dies, Clogs, Et all" post. But as this is a foreign coin thought it best to post here. Thanks to another member of the forum, I have inherited some amazing new coins and am having some great fun researching and learning about them all. I wont mention the member directly in case he wishes to stay anonymous. Enough to say I am a very grateful and happy collector with hours of research and catolaguing to do. Massive Thanks agian . Anyway here is a great little coin found amongst the coins I recieved. It has a mint error but I have no idea what it would be called. Any help appreciated. Cheers Brian
  9. Yes. Definitely metal pulled away from the obverse in perfect line with the obverse. Tried to look up and attribute the type of error but just can't find it. Thanks

Will stick with Colin Cooke. Had a great service, no over pricing of postage and a really friendly service. Can see what your saying within reason Rob but not for the coins mentioned at the hammer price. Prospective in p&p relative to value is called for. As for paper work and a jiffy bag+ VAT to double postage!!!!! Sorry seriously cannot justify, especially after taking into consideration their high buyers premium.

Sorry but £12 postage is an absolute rip off from a company already over pricing its services. As for £5 storage a day that is a bloody disgrace especially taking into consideration the size of the items. Can't justify those costs no matter how much you try... No justification
  12. I thought I would start a new topic as I have been posting quite a bit across the boards on Errors and Variants of the modern Decimal Penny. I started to put together a concise set of pennies a few months ago as an add on to my pre-decimal penny colection. I also took inspiration from Dave G's decimal penny survey done back in 2013 and have used that as a starting point. I have found quite a considerable number of new varieties and also some nice anomalies. This first post is one such anomaly. I have found two 2007 pennies both with a filled link in the portcullis chain. The two also have identical die cracks coming of the P, E and first N of PENNY. I know that i once read a post were Rob was able to calculate the amount of effected coins that could have possibly come from a defective die. Would love to know if it is possible to do the same with modern decimal pennies. Anyway here are a few pictures. Coin A shows the errors the least and the pictures dont show the errors as well as a Magnifying glass. Coin B shows the die cracks and fill much clearer
  13. Here is my latest error penny. A 1901 with flaws to both sides. Sorry for the pics but my digital microscope gave up the ghost and has been filed in the B1N. Waiting on a new one arriving very soon.
  14. The 4 tokens above cost less than £13 in total.
  15. One I missed from the other day. Another Condor Farthing.
  16. Thanks Pete. Just checked that out. Definitely the same Farthing in what I would say was the same comparable condition. Cheers Brian
  17. A couple of Condor tokens I got yesterday. Think I got them for a good price but have no idea of value
  18. Hi Guys Just curious if anyone would know how I could find out the mintage figures for the 2006 Silver 20p Britannia. I got one for a great deal and have no worries regarding what its worth. Would just like to know how many are out there. I believe it was only issued via Royal Mint in the "Just For You" packs along with a George VI sixpence (but could be wrong!). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Brian
  19. This is the second a Elizabeth II 1959 half penny with lamination error.
  20. Just got a load of half pennies and came across a couple of interesting mint errors. The coins aren't brilliant but the errors are nice examples. The first is a George VI Off Strike.
  21. I would be interested in a mint condition one depending on price as I don't have one. I couldn't possibly buy all!!!!!! Think even a dealer would be hard pushed with that many! Wow...
