Found in a 50p Tin... What is it?

    £25 is fantastic. Thanks, Jaggy!

    wow look at these bargains

Did you sell them already? How much?
  3. Yeah, its probably only worth a few pounds unless it is in quite good condition (eg, has lots of detail)
  4. Other than that, it's mostly fine! I tend to buy cheap, sell... still quite cheap!
  5. I once swapped a beautiful, EF 1935 crown for probably less than its scrap value in useless bullion. I thought because it was older it was better. Now its looking £7 for the bullion, £30 for the crown.

    Your dream coin?

Gothic crown, proof Gold. Only 1 exists; it sold for £11,000 in 1988. That means, what, £50,000 now? £100,000?
  7. I really like the George IV Half crowns with the floral design (1820 & 1821), but my favorite is the very beautiful Gothic crowns.

    Your favourite coins

And of course, the sovereign design. Just... classic.

    Your favourite coins

Gothic crowns all the way! Truly stunning pieces... But the 5 guinea Lima coin reverse is very good, too.
  10. Very rare; I've never seen one and it's not in my book! Great find and I hope it's valuable!
  11. Also, coppers are too low value.
  12. I love the £2; I thought they had got rid of the florin sized coin when the 10p was re-sized. Also like the 50p and 20p; they are easy to distinguish. Hate the £1 coin; it is too easy to fake and is too small for its value.

    Your oldest change find?

Non - I have not been around that long! ( I did once find a 1950's halfpenny in a park... )

    £20 Silver Coin For £20

I think that really all that is going for them is the face value. Mintage is quite high, silver is only £7... I just don't think they are worth it.

Found in a 50p Tin... What is it?

Wow! Thank you - I had absolutely no idea! Well, I do think it's a really nice design - and don't want to pay £200 - so I'm keeping it. And it is definitely not going for scrap now! Just another query for anyone: how much less - and I know it's a lot - is this one worth, would you say?

    Gold George 111 guinea 1770

£1000! You must really want that coin! (Take the money!)
  17. Oh - and by the way - the shield does not have a loop taken from it!
  18. I agree with you there; that's why for the Royal Mint £1 coin design competition, my design is a floral themed shield featuring English roses, Scottish thistles, Irish clovers... and a Welsh daffodil!

    1841 Halfcrown Value

I personally - upon acknowledging what they tend to fetch - would advise you to hold out at £2500. It is a very rare piece, in a very nice grade. It'll find the right buyer at that, I'm sure.
  20. CartwheelTwopence

    how much is this worth?

    I agree - 20p!
