Middlesex Halfpenny Conder token D&H 319c, a little off-centre but nice toucan! Circa 1790s. Obverse reads "TO . THE . CURIOUS . OBSERVERS . OF . NATURAL . PHENOMENA." -
I wonder if someone could help with attributing this coin please? The date is not very clear due to reduction lines but I am 96% sure it is 1696. The regnal year on the edge is OCTAVO. I'm after the Bull/ESC number, I currently have it as ESC 1071 (532) but that would make it R3 and I want to be sure Thanks for any help!

Thanks Rob, I did have my doubts, mis-attributed by the very well-known dealer then! Still R2 though, if you believe in such things! -

Totally agree with Nons on the wordpress recommendation, I do exactly the same. It also helps with posting pics on here, I just copy/paste them into a reply such as this one! Here's another newbie I'm quite pleased with, could do with less bag chatter though ... -

Latest Bath token -
At the DNW this week I noticed that milled Elizabeth I coins were described as, for example, "contemporary with Second hammered issue" - no longer any mention of the word 'milled' at all. This may have been the customary auction/dealer description for a while, and I have only just noticed, but can anyone shed any light on why the change?

Ah ok, thanks Rob

I only have D&H as a reference, if of any use or relevance, this Birmingham Kempson token is correctly documented by D&H as having an edge inscription of "COVENTRY TOKEN" -
