Yes, and I'm really looking forward to the new yarn that goes with it. Hoping this time for granny to play a central role.

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

Very tough question. At the moment the only way of doing the former seems to be to add the sellers' names to a maintained list of cheats like http://augustuscoins.com/ed/fakesellers.html and http://www.lateromanbronzecoinforum.com/index.php?topic=1218.0 I suspect MB may be part of a group with a bunch of Ebay names and possibly different house addresses who shill bid each other up as required.

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

Looking at the third and seventh pictures down on the listing it's clear both sides were struck upside down. Must be worth a fortune.

Very impolite. I hope any future contact from this forum begins Dear Bob ...

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

My copy from bitsandbobs.etc has 161 both sides. Maybe it's an extremely rare fake worth hundreds of thousands (to marlybob1/dimondgirl) 😉 It's advertised as same dimensions and weight as the original, but is noticeably thinner than a 1935 penny.

Those angled serifs must be really tricky for forgers! If the pics I've seen are the real thing it's just the pattern penny missing the extra wave, the "ordinary" 1933 has it.

Well not long to go for 1933. She's now claiming it's a pattern penny, demonstrably false as shown in comparson with https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:1933_Pattern_Penny.jpg eg look under the foot (fake is the bluish pic)

Maybe the public bidder is "her" as well - after all we know "she" has at least two ebay names. I'm no expert but out of interest I compared her penny with the real thing https://www.antiquestradegazette.com/news/2016/1933-and-all-that-165-000-for-britain-s-numismatic-superstar/ and there are many detail differences. I've attached pics of some text from each - see how the serifs are much straighter/cruder in her version (fake over real).

That's good, so there's a chance you might be able to pick up the matching front and back half

I found that the "real" link is generally just the text upto the "?", so https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/British-3-Pence-1853-Rare-/353646172040 The rest is probably the details of your bank accounts, eye-colour, love-life etc etc 😉

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265193917882 It was either this or a dodgy teddy bear from this seller. Personally I would need a photo of Beonna holding this coin, signed by Beonna himself, before I would consider it for more than £3.50

I suppose having no discernable detail is quite rare https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313561700903?hash=item4901bbda27

Looking through his collection of items what strikes me is the weird orange deposit/corrosion on most of them - coins of different periods and countries!

has now been relisted https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254912685349?ViewItem=&item=254912685349 still ignoring our requests for the names of his team of experts, and a pic of the coin edge, but still offering: "feel free toemail me with any questions". Maybe not using toemail was our mistake?

Assuming fairly pure gold, from the diameter and weight shown the thickness should be just under 0.5mm. Nearer 1mm if lead. I've asked him to post some edge-on photos.
