I think I can see it. BIN of only a grand too🧐

    Mr. Grumpy.

At least the commemorative stamp is a stamp and is current and fit for purpose, i.e, sticking on a letter. Now if ever they had the idea to make them out of Vicuna wool or Mulberry silk then we could see a similar trend in Phil Latterly.
  3. Not really my area of interest but I can appreciate pennies a lot more now, especially after following some topics on here. There are some cracking pennies coming up at Spink Feb 24th auction, a very nice Freeman 59 and 184. Will we see more outrageous prices I wonder?

I like to think that there would have been a contemporary significance with the ‘holey’ Ed.VI pieces. As a memento of a young King taken early, or as a talisman worn in the hope of preventing a return to Catholicism perhaps?

    Steep slabbing premiums

I was only hazarding a guess there Michael, but, for whatever reason, he just sort of... sprang to mind, as it were.

Ouch! thats really bad. Cromwell’s had a nose job and has taken to smoking forbidden herbs by the look of that eye. And he claims it is authentic. His whole stock is probably not worth 10% of what he’s asking. Quite sad really. Over 23000 sales too, smh.

Im genuinely not up on the naffness rating of these sites. Is DM considered to be used by a certain type of user? What exactly does that say about him (as if i needed to ask)

  18. Quite a positive editorial regarding the future of coin collecting in Coin Weekly. Looks like outrageous prices might continue for some time to come....

    1858/3 Penny

Honestly fascinating but boggles my mind after a while, and then I tend to see all sorts of things, for example, has anyone one spotted Vincent van Gogh peering through the hole in the 8? Or is it Our Lord Jesus visiting us via the medium of precious metals now instead of on a piece of toast. Pareidolia? That may be easy to say.

  24. Anyone bidding at DNW? Currently on DNW auction where similar outrageous prices are seen though, imho, some bargains to be had. Just won a 'probably finest known' but tbh I've seen better examples however I'm quite happy with price paid and it completed a set so job done.
