selling a collection

Hiya all,

I have not been here before but wanted to see if anyone had any useful advice.

I have several Proof sets in the blue leatherette cases plus many £1 silver proofs and special £2 and £10p silver proofs. I was thinking of selling my collection on EBay but maybe your readers have better suggestions? my collection is 1980's onward.

I am looking to get the best price possible for my collection due to iminent marriage!!

Rob,

You'll probably find they'll acheive 40-80% of the catalogue values on ebay, often they go for less. Perfect year sets with absolutely no tarnishing are slightly more popular.

I personally think that those kind of things are just a money making machine for the mint, they rarely hold there value and I have paid too much for a few of them in the past. I have quite a few in my specials area and they sell maybe 4 a year at those reasonable prices.
