Hi everyone,

Im Alex from Italy, so.... forgive my mistakes...

I'm a collector of british coins (e.g. now I'm collecting George VI's coins) and I'm interested in modern Crowns (the new "Crown size coins" from 1990...).

And I have a question: for this kind of coins, what you think is better to buy: the "normal" ones that for example the Royal Mint sells at 5£ or the one in the Mint Folder? In every case i'm interesting in the cupronikel version and not in the silver one.

Go for the ones that cost face value and don't pay silly prices for bits of card/plastic that are unlikely to help the coin ever be worth more.

I have a few post 1990 Crowns, which do you need?

Ok, many thanks...

Essentially i'm interesting in every post 1990 Crown except the 2002 (Golden Jubilee) and 2003 ones. I also have all Elizabeth II's 25p and 5s Crowns and the two of George VI. I don't have the ones before.

Let me know

Alex

Dear Alex,

I have a few nice 1935 King George V Crowns and earlier ones, as well as 1990 (Queen mum) ABU £6.00, 1998 (Charles) UNC but bag marked £5 and 1996 (Queens Birthday) BU ex set £7.50.

I also have some lovely Victorian Crowns:

I think the nakedness was probably artistic licence, but who knows, he could have been in a nudist area when all of a sudden a great big dragon nabbed a sausage off his barbeque or something!

But there were real dragons and he did slaughter them, I have no doubt about that!

No really!

I was in Arundel once on the Sussex coast and the locals there told me about a fierce dragon that used to terrorize the inhabitants just 600 years ago.

You obviously didn't have Dragons in Spain Juan!

Barbecuing sausages while naked is asking for trouble. :o

Bacon's worse because it spits so violently!
