I got this coin from shop, I think they thought it was a 2 euros coin, as its size is exactly same.

I think it could be Indian, but I didn't found a pic of it anywhere on Internet.

Here's some pics, hope you can help to identify it:

The language looks Thai, or Burmese (somewhere around there). I don't think it's Indian.

I'm sure someone with a Krause to hand will be along soon.

If you are not interested in the coin, do not get rid of it, I will gladly take it of your hands for the £2 that you "lost" (I see it more like a lucky gain). If it happens to be more valuable than that, it will depend on how much more... :)

I have a few coins like that, and i have always thought them to be Israilian (even though i doubt it) or (as chris said) Burmese...My coins that are like that are like British 20p's and 50p's, they all have that man in glasses on the obverse no matter what the date is...

i can not say what it definately is though...Kulhi will probably know...

Pity, I am always happy to take all opportunities to add different (and if possible cheap :) ) coins to my collection. O well, I am sure you will enjoy adding it to your collection.

E2, always better than £2...

Yeah cos £2 is worth more... so much more too lose, it's better to lose €2.

It is indeed a Thailand 10 baht, from 1996, KM#328.2, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Reign of King Rama IX (Phra Maha Bhumiphol Adulyadej).

The coin, which is still legal tender in Thailand, is worth about €0.20, so it is very profitable to try and pass it off as a €1 or €2 instead of cashing it in at an exchange.
