brauereibeck Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Has anyone been following the debate regarding the Karl Goetz auction on Heritage? Looking at the reverse hub for the Paris Dictat 1921 medal I couldn't help noticing how rough the detail was. You'd think that the hub would be pin sharp even taking into account accidental damage and corrosion. Quote
brauereibeck Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 Here's the same detail from an actual medal. Quote
HistoricCoinage Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Yes, I've been following these. The rust on some of them has led to the loss of much detail. There has also been some controversy surrounding their origin and the specific return policy on them.A more detailed topic on these 'hubs' can be read here. Quote
brauereibeck Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 On the hub the dot between T and D appears to be elongated although this could be a lighting effect. Quote
