Guest matt simpson Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 What british coins are the most sought after?Sorry for making this topic so open, but i`m new to this, and have just been given a tin full of coins off my father which range from 1806, and in all sorts of demoninations. I have already learned about the 1933 penny (i have the half penny, is that worth anything?).There is also a number of foreign coins amongst them. There is an american coin with an indian head on from the thirties i think, and loads of others.MATT Quote
Chris Perkins Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 The most sought after coins are the coins in top conditions. The best available of any date, with full mint lustre is preferable. There are some scarcer dates of course and some coin types that are popular but the most important thing for most collectors is the coin being in the best condition they can afford. The 1933 Halfpenny is common and not worth much unless in exceptional condition. Sylvester Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 Or in my case if the coin is available in any condition! Quote
