Guest Jeff_I'm_a_Guest Posted September 28, 2003 Posted September 28, 2003 Hi I have found another coin with my metal detector..... however it is not in very good condition and I cant read much on it.Any ideas what it is........All I can read on one side is the word Nottingham running around the outer edge, and what looks to be a larger letter G near the centre. On the other side it looks to have the letters WXLD running round part of the coin with a larger letter W near the centre. The coin itself is about the size of a new 1p coin and made of similar looking material as a new 1p.Very interesting....if only I new what it isThnks .... Jeff Quote
Chris Perkins Posted September 28, 2003 Posted September 28, 2003 To speculate Jeff it could be a locally (nottingham) issued condor farthing token used in the 1790's or perhaps 1810's but of course it could be much newer and you unfortunately don't have much to go on.Chris Perkinswww.predecimal.com Quote
