Guest Lee Posted September 27, 2003 Posted September 27, 2003 I have what I think is a commemorative coin/token depicting George VI wearing a crown. Reverse has a lion standing, in a conquering manner, on what looks like a griffon and the dates 1939 1945. Suggesting VE Day commerative ??! There is no denomination and the rim has all but disappeared. I'm not sure that it is a British coin as all my detective work so far has shown no British coins with George VI wearing a crown, (although a Fijian shilling does). If anyone can help I'd be grateful. As you can probably tell I'm not a collector, but I just want to know what this is! Quote
Chris Perkins Posted September 27, 2003 Posted September 27, 2003 Sounds like the standard WWII medal that all servicemen were presented with after the war.If you register you can upload a picture.Chriswww.predecimal.com Quote
