Guest SWoods Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Hi, I would like some help please. I am a MEng student studying forensic engineering and I have been tasked with investigating counterfeit one pound coins. My question is, are there any relevant standards relating to minted coins that may be relevant to my problem? Like manufacturing standards. I have looked all through the Royal Mint website and found some interesting facts but no reference to standards to which they manufacture to. I am probably not going to find anything as it is most likely top secret but I need to make sure I have exhausted all my options. If somebody could help I would be very grateful. Thanks Stephen Quote
scott Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 as for the pounds, there are many differant "standards" to these fakes, i already have a thread linking some of the fake pounds i have found, the mix is interestinghttp://www.predecimal.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=4344i will update this thread is i find new ones of course, but some are very nice (the 1998 one for example, very little to determine its fake except the date) Quote
